About
Beginning January 2nd, 2012, at CITY HALL EVENT SPACE in downtown Denver – Internationally renown street artists Sam Flores, David Choe and Highraff will begin work on their 100’ x 8’ murals. On January 12th, the event will be open and FREE to the public from 2pm to 7pm every day. Also slated for the first 10 days of the event will be: music, street art and performance. The main draw will be to watch the LIVE painting of three world-class artists working on such large scale canvases in one place. In addition to the LIVE painting, we will be activating the space with other entertainment and elements such as DJs, live music, performance artists, mural painting classes, panel discussions, local artists painting live, a marketplace, videos and a program of other events designed to create buzz and encourage people to stay, engage and share in the celebration of this international art movement.
To top off this momentous occasion there will be six nights of ticketed musical performances with artists like Bob Skizzum, Broken Tongues, A. Tom Collins Band, Mourning Clouds, Souls of Mischief, Ninja Styles hip hop competitions, Hella Thready Fashion Shows, Midnite, Supreme Action League and the closing party on Saturday Night will feature International superstar DJ Z-TRIP. Tickets for these events are available here and at outlets across Denver.
Once the event has completed at CITY HALL, the three 100’ x 8’ murals will be installed at Denver International Airport, traveling from one terminal to another over the course of 5 years. Alongside the actual murals, will be informational graphics as well as a looping documentary video to continue telling the story of this unique and relevant visual and interactive experience.
Thank you all for your support of the largest public art project in Denver International Airport’s history, these murals are destined to become new cultural landmarks for Denver.
